Having lived for many years in Bali, a major international tourist destination, and spent a good part of that time rubbing shoulders with the hotel industry, I thought I had a fairly fair opinion of the service and number of stars ratio of a hotel, and unfortunately not very favorable to Indonesian standards. My unexpected arrival at this hotel was therefore more linked to an urgent need for rest than to a quest for quality. Without great expectations as I said, but as soon as I arrived, a surprising doubt invaded me and this as soon as I entered the parking lot. Welcome from the valet, help with parking with my motorbike, accompaniment to the reception. Did I get the wrong address? No matter my physical condition did not allow me to analyze the place and finally I found myself in a room with the luggage delivered and what a room! Worthy of a Sheraton or a Hilton. Then after a few hours of rest, the restaurant or should I say the restaurants were superb. Cozy with a simple but yet very well cooked menu, all this at a very reasonable price! Finally before my departure the next morning, the cherry on the cake with the buffet breakfast…. And not only Indonesian but Western, varied and delicious! Finally my fatigue was beneficial because without it I would certainly never have discovered this jewel in the south of Banyuwangi and the most surprising thing in this whole story is that I had the number of stars of this hotel confirmed which is indeed 4 but which in my opinion is worth many 5 stars in Bali. Yes the view is not that of some places in Bali but I can assure you that the standards are largely there.

Ayant vécu de nombreuses années à Bali, grande destination touristique internationale, et passé une bonne partie de ce temps dans le domaine de l’hôtellerie, je pensais avoir une opinion assez juste du rapport service et nombre d’étoiles d’un hôtel, et malheureusement peu favorable aux standards indonésiens. Mon arrivée inopinée dans cet hôtel était donc plus liée à un besoin urgent de repos qu’à une quête de qualité. Sans grandes attentes comme je l’ai dit, mais dès mon arrivée, un doute surprenant m’envahit et ce dès mon entrée dans le parking. Accueil du voiturier, aide au stationnement avec ma moto, accompagnement à la réception. Me suis-je trompe d’adresse? Peu importe ma condition physique ne me permettait pas d’analyser les lieux et finalement je me retrouvais dans une chambre avec les bagages rapidement livrés par un groom, et quelle chambre! Digne d’un Sheraton ou d’un Hilton. Ensuite après quelques heures de repos, le restaurant ou devrais-je dire les restaurants cosy pour une carte simple mais très bien cuisinée, tout cela à un prix extrêmement raisonnable! Enfin avant mon départ le lendemain matin, la cerise sur le gâteau avec le petit déjeuner buffet…. Et pas seulement indonésien mais occidental, varié et délicieux! Finalement un coup de fatigue sur la route qui s’est vu bénéfique car sans cela je n'aurais certainement jamais découvert ce joyau du sud de Banyuwangi et le plus surprenant dans toute cette histoire c'est que j'ai du me faire confirmer dans le doute le nombre d'étoiles de cet hôtel qui est effectivement de 4 mais qui vaut à mon avis bien des 5 étoiles à Bali. Oui la vue n'est pas celle de certains endroits à Bali mais je peux vous assurer que les standards sont largement là
